The Buddha and Women's Ordination - Cancelled
Saturday 25 June 2022 11am – 3pm
What did the Buddha actually set in place for the ordination of women?
What happened in the centuries afterwards right through to the present day?
Join a day workshop with Nagasuri who will explore Analayo's excellent book, The Foundation History of the Nuns' Order and look briefly at Sangharakshita's essay, A Wreath of Blue Lotus. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions. After a vegan lunch (bring food to share) we will do a Sevenfold Puja to celebrate Sangharakshita's vision for an Order in which anyone who is effectively going for refuge and practising within the Triratna tradition can be ordained: this being true to the heart, the very spirit of the Dharma.
