GFR Days
One Sunday each month 1pm – 4pm
This retreat is open only to Order members and mitras who have formally asked to join the Order and have attended at least one ordination training retreat.
The afternoon takes place in two halves. In the first half, we practice the Going for Refuge and Prostration Practice which will be lightly led. This normally finishes at around 2pm after which we study one of the Seven Papers. The study normally lasts until around 3:30pm-4pm.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I come?
The day is open to Order members, and mitras who are already training for ordination who have attended an ordination training retreat (and are therefore already familiar with the Going For Refuge and Prostration practice).
Do I need to book?
No - if you are a Order member or mitra training for ordination, just turn up!
How long do you do the prostration practice for?
The full practice takes around 40 minutes, typically 10-12 minutes of which are for the prostration stage.
Can I do the prostration practice if I am injured?
Absolutely! The practice can easily be modified to any physical needs, and we can go as slowly as is needed.
Do I need to read the study beforehand?
Yes. The papers are quite long so we will not go through them on the day. Please read and reflect on them in advance, and come prepared with the points you want to discuss.
I can't make the whole day - can I come for just some of it?
Yes, feel free to come just for the protraction practice, or just for the study.
