Movie Nights @ the Centre
Launching 4 October, then from December onwards every second Saturday of every second month, 6–10pm
Award-winning films, Dharma themes and a shared meal.
Movie Night @ The Centre is an every-two-monthly gathering where we share a meal together and then settle in for curious films that are either rooted in the Dharma or Dharma-adjacent.
We begin at 6pm with a delightful dinner. For our launch night, expect two curries, rice, papadums and steaming chai. Future nights will feature a rotating menu, sometimes paired with the films and their origins.
At 7:15pm, the shrine room becomes a cinema lounge — mats and cushions laid out for maximum reclining comfort. Then we dive into a hand-picked program designed to spark reflection, conversation, and maybe even surprise.
Our first night (Saturday 4 October) features a selection of award winning dharma short-films. After that, Movie Night will run every two months on the second Saturday (see program below).
Bring your appetite, bring your curiosity, bring a friend. This is sangha cinema: food, friendship, and films that open the heart and mind.
Suggested dana (donation): $25 with dinner / $15 film only
All proceeds go to support the Vijayaloka fundraising campaign.
Want to curate a future film night? Choose the films, set the tone, and host the conversation. Email Dane at dane.hunnerup@gmail.com to express interest.
