The SBC currently has an ambitious project to renovate our beautiful retreat centre Vijayaloka. As part of wider fundraising efforts, we’re holding a classic jumble sale!
Donate your (beautiful) junk – bric-a-brac, what-nots, plants, cakes, homemade jam, small furniture items, stationery, kitchenware, toys, any other treasures you can think of – then come and buy some more!
Drop-offs are welcome at the Centre from the week before.
No books or clothes please.
Let’s go through our possessions and pare down. Ask friends for good junk. Help downsizers by taking stuff off their hands… The more (good stuff) we have to sell, the closer we’ll be to reaching our goal!

Is there anything you don't want me to donate to the sale?
No books or clothes will be accepted, sorry. We suggest you take unwanted books to your local street library, and clothes to somewhere like Re-Place at the Sustainability Hub in Summer Hill.
When can I leave my donations at the Centre?
Please bring items to donate to the Jumble Sale AFTER Saturday 5 October. There is limited storage available and we want to minimise things being in the way
How can I pay for my purchases on Jumble Sale Day?
Card payments using the Centre's terminal are welcomed and preferred. Immediate payments can also be made by EFT/bank transfer. Cash payments will also be accepted but there may be limited change available.
How can I help get the best price for the things I'm donating?
We like the way you think! Every dollar raised at this Jumble Sale goes towards the Vijayaloka building project so let's raise money! The Sale is a great opportunity for each of us to clear out our less-used but perfectly good items. Your uncle's Mozart bust, that dusty salad bowl on top of the fridge, even those psychedelic cushions! Each donation could bring in an extra dollar or two if the item is clean and free from dust. So before you bring anything to the Centre, make sure to give it a wipe!
Where exactly at the Centre should I leave things I want to donate to the Jumble Sale?
Please leave items neatly stacked at the back of the small shrine room. If you can't get to the Centre during a time when it's open, please leave boxes neatly on the front verandah.
