108 Year Pūjā
Wednesday 27 August 2025 7pm – 9:15pm
Each year, Triratna Centres across the world hold an annual pūjā to celebrate our community throughout time.
This tradition started in 2004 when each centre was gifted a box containing a candle that would burn 108 hours, 108 sticks of incense and a book in which to record each year's attendees. The aspiration is that this tradition will continue for 108 years as an annual milestone in the ongoing evolution of our community.
Usually the puja takes place on 26 August, which is the birthday of our teacher, Urgyen Sangharakshita, and this year would have been his 100th birthday. However this year we are celebrating on 27 August to align the puja with our weekly Sangha Night.
The night will begin at 7pm with a short sit followed by the pūjā at 7.30pm, and tea/cake afterwards.
* If you can't make it to this event in person, there is a special online celebration on 26 August being organised at Adhistana in the UK – check here for all the details *
