2025 Retreat Programme Now Available
6 December 2024We're delighted to share our 2025 programme of retreats!
This Year's Highlights
For a few years we have been offering two particularly special meditation teaching retreats. These aim to take people who are already familiar with the meditations we teach a little deeper:
- Satipaṭṭhāna builds on the mindfulness of breaking practice. This year Ratnajyoti and Priyada will be leading, and it will be running for 9 nights, Friday 18 – Sunday 27 April.
- Brahmavihārās builds on the mettā bhāvanā practice. This year it Buddhankapali and Jinavajra will be leading, and will run for 7 nights: Friday 8 – Friday 15 August.
These compliment our ever-popular flagship meditation practice retreats for men and women. This year these will be:
- Men’s Intensive: Options for 9 nights or 16 nights Friday 20 June – Sunday 6 July
- Women's Meditation Retreat: 10 nights Thursday 10 – Sunday 20 July
For mitras and Order members, we have a few special retreats this year:
- Genjōkōan: a study retreat on the influential essay written by Dōgen. Moksavajra will be visiting to lead this 4-night study retreat Thursday 5 – Monday 9 June.
- Men's Mitra Retreat: Indigenous Immersive Intuitive. Chandramalin will be visiting to co-lead this meditation weekend alongside Manichitta. Friday 17 – Sunday 19 October.
- Order retreat: Exclusively for Order members, led by Dharmananda. Friday 28 March – Sunday 6 April 2025.
We will of course also have our usual staples of:
- Introductory weekends
- Open weekends
- Working with nature weekends
- Eleventh step recovery retreats
- Order events and GFR retreats
- Meditation & Dharma Retreat (Friday 24 October – Sunday 2 November)
- Qi gong and meditation retreat (Friday 7 – Sunday 9 March)
- People of colour retreat (Friday 15 August – Sunday 17 August)
- Rainbow retreat (Friday 11 April – Sunday 13 April)
- Young peoples long weekend retreat (Friday 3 October – Monday 6 October).
- New Year retreat. Samacitta will be returning to Sydney to co-lead our 2026 New Year Retreat alongside Saralila. We will list this in the new year to avoid any confusion for people who might still want to book on this year's new year retreat.
A note about prices and generosity
Every calendar year, we review our retreat prices and adjust them to align with our costs. For the second year running we have made a conscious decision not to do so. This is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to come on retreat at Vijayaloka.
We have been able to do this because enough people add a donation when booking onto a retreat. To help us keep our prices as low as they can be, we encourage everyone who is able to to add a little extra onto your bookings. Your support will help make Vijayaloka more accessible to a wider community.
Visiting Vijayaloka from out of state
In this spirit, we are also continuing our offering of discounts to this travelling from outside of NSW. Discounts range from 25% to 50% depending on where you are coming from. More information
