Postcard: Mexico City Buddhist Centre – Annie

22 December 2025

Welcome to a new occasional column sharing stories from sangha members visiting Triratna centres further afield!

“In March this year, I visited the Mexico City Buddhist Centre, the first place I contacted the Dharma 15 years ago. Mexico is where I feel freest and most 'me'. To be there again after so many years and exploration and practice felt like a powerful homecoming. There was a 7-stage Padmasambhava puja the first night I was there, which feels auspicious as I've had a strong response to Padmasambhava since he pushed me to ask for ordination at Vajrasana in 2022.It was such a beautiful experience to recite the precepts, rejoice in merits and go for refuge in Spanish. The Mexican sangha welcomed me with open arms and extended various invitations to meet with the public preceptors and mitra convenors and join women's study over here, as well as the young people's group (despite being 5 years over the age limit) 💛💙❤️.”
