The $100,000 Dharma Disco

The $100,000 Dharma Disco

Saturday 7 March 2026 6pm – 10:30pm at St Lukes Hall

In celebration of raising our first $100K for the Vijayaloka Retreat Centre Development, we’re hosting an off-site Dharma Curry Night & Disco!

It's happening at: St. Lukes Hall, Enmore (just a few blocks up Enmore Road from the Sydney Buddhist Centre).

  • 6:30pm: The night kicks off with vegan curries and social time. Curry will be available for an additional $15.
  • At 7:30pm the dancing begins, starting with disco
  • At 9:30pm we move into an hour of Bodhi Dance. This session is a playful dancing meditation where music guides us through mindfulness of the body, movement, energy and peace together. Wear whatever feels comfortable and move however feels right — lying down, swaying, frolicking, dancing, stomping or simply being still.
  • Wrap up at 10:30pm

DJs on board are DJ Kashishi and DJ JP, with a special specDRAGular performance.

Dress: classic disco or flowing threads

Tickets $25 on the door (curry will be available for an additional $15). All proceeds from the night go to Vijayaloka.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I join just for the curry?

Of course! We'll be transitioning from food to dancing around 7:30pm so try to arrive before then.

Do I need to book?

There will be limited tickets on the door, but we encourage you to buy a presale ticket so we know how much curry to cook!

What will the food be like?

Many Buddhists eat a vegan diet as an expression of non-violence. As such, all food will be vegan.

We can also cater for gluten free and garlic and onion free diets. However we cannot accomodate for any specific dietary requirements beyond this.

Do I need to be a Buddhist or a regular at the centre?

Everyone is welcome. Bring your friends!

Are children welcome?

Yes

What is the parking situation?

There are two car parks reserved for people with disability, please let us know if you need one of these in advance.

Other carparks are reserved for the working team. On-street parking can be sometimes found on Liberty and Cavendish Streets.
