Public Ordinations at Vijayaloka

Public Ordinations at Vijayaloka

Sunday 3 April 2022 5am – 7am at Vijayaloka Retreat Centre in Minto Heights

Due to the rising numbers of COVID in and around Sydney and out desire to maintain the COVID-safe space on our retreat, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the open invitation to attend the Public Ordination Ceremony at Vijayaloka on Sunday, 3 April. The ordinations will not be live streamed.

Claire Carpenter (from Sydney), Cynthia Troup (from Melbourne), Emma Wallace (from Sydney) and Veronica Toescu (from the UK) will have their public ordination ceremonies.

A Public Ordination is an occasion of joy for the whole community, and everyone is welcome!

You are warmly invited to attend the ceremony, which will begin at 3pm. Please arrive at about 2.30pm. As the ordination ceremony will be held in the midst of the ordination retreat (ie the ordinands will be continuing with their retreat for another week after their public ordinations), we are asking all those coming along to maintain the atmosphere of quietude that has been created on the retreat as we witness Claire, Cynthia, Emma and Veronica being ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order.

To protect the retreatants and each other, we ask that those attending have a negative RAT (rapid antigen test) within a day of coming along and not attend if experiencing any cold-like symptoms.

Following the ceremony, simple refreshments will be provided (so please do not bring food) before a departure by 5pm.

If you're coming along, please let us know using the booking form via the link below.
