Mettā Bhāvanā - Meditation Day Retreat

Mettā Bhāvanā - Meditation Day Retreat

Sunday 14 June 9:30am – 3:30pm

In this workshop we will explore three different modes of practicing the Mettā Bhāvanā. These will be "Doing", "Becoming" and "Being" loving kindness. We will have the opportunity to do a number of led meditations together and share our experience in a collaborative atmosphere.

The workshop is open to anyone who has some basic understanding of the Mettā Bhāvanā practice. The workshop is not for complete beginners. The aim of the workshop is to help meditators find their own authentic expression of the Mettā Bhāvanā practice. Order Members and Mitras are very welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to book?

No - if you have some experience already with the Metta Bhavana practice, just turn up!

I can't make the whole day - can I come for just some of it?

Since this is a special workshop, it is best to come for the whole day.

How much does the day cost?

We don't charge a fixed price for our classes but instead invite you to make a donation to the centre to help us cover our running costs.

A donation of $15-20 would help us to cover our costs, but everyone is equally welcome, even if you cannot give anything at all.

What should I wear for the meditation and how should I sit?

There are no special requirements, just make sure you'll be comfortable to sit for the duration of meditation.

Please do not wear perfume or anything that has a strong smell which some people may be sensitive to.

Should I bring my lunch?

Yes! It would be best if you don't have to leave during the day, to maintain meditative conditions. Bring something (vegan) for yourself, and we'll eat together.
