Coogee Meditation Group

There is a Buddhist meditation group in Coogee, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. If you are interested in learning to meditate or in deepening your existing practice then you are warmly invited to join our weekly meditation evening. Meditation is one of the most direct ways to cultivate a calm and happy mind. The meditation practices we do are traditional Buddhist practices and are led by members of the Triratna Buddhist Order.

In Coogee there is a Buddhist group that meet and practice regularly, and a residential community called Jayakula where people from all walks of life can live in supportive conditions.

So what is it that’s going on in Coogee? Are we a Buddhist centre? Are we an outreach group from the Sydney Centre? Or are we something else? What I can tell you is that there is a wonderful sangha emerging after more than three years of running weekly meditation and Dharma study at the picturesque Coogee Croquet Club. And I can also tell you that Jayakula, the six person community just up the road is thriving.
